Calpiogna parish register | |
Parish register of Calpiogna transcribed by Corrinne Goodenough.
If a firstname is printed in CAPITAL letters this will be the name by which the person was known by as opposed to his/her baptismal name.
If there is more than one entry shown for a person's baptism and/or death this will reflect multiple marriages and each entry will name the spouse(s) although these will not necessarily be listed chronologically.
These transcripts may be of interest to descendants of the many Swiss Restaurateurs who were in London in the late 1800s many of whom came from the Ticino Region of Switzerland where the villages Calpiogna and Campello exist- see "Continental Taste, Ticinese emigrants and their Café-Restaurants in Britain 1847- 1987 by Peter Barber and Peter Jacomelli", published by Camden History Society (occasional paper 2)
